A 28-year-old woman with a lengthy criminal record led police on an unusually slow pursuit early Tuesday morning, topping out at just 15 miles per hour during a four-hour-long chase through the streets of Nashville, as reported by The New York Post.

The suspect, identified as Katlyn Wray, was first spotted asleep at the wheel of a stolen Nissan Altima shortly after 3 a.m., according to Metro Nashville Police.

Officers attempted to approach the vehicle, but Wray abruptly reversed and began driving away, setting off what would become a slow-speed chase across the city.

Despite two spike strip deployments, which successfully flattened both the front and rear tires of the vehicle, Wray continued to drive for nearly four hours.

During that time, she maintained speeds between 7 and 15 mph while a convoy of patrol cars followed her with lights flashing and sirens activated. Aerial units from law enforcement also monitored the situation from above.

Video footage captured by Fox17 shows the bizarre sight of multiple police vehicles crawling behind Wray on empty highways as she inched along with flattened tires.

When officers finally took her into custody, they asked why she didn’t stop. Wray reportedly responded, “I’m already on paper for ten years anyway.”

Due to departmental policy, Metro Nashville Police were not authorized to use the Precision Immobilization Technique (PIT) to forcibly stop Wray’s vehicle.

As a result, the Tennessee Highway Patrol was called in to assist. A THP trooper executed the PIT maneuver, successfully bringing the car to a stop.

Footage from the scene shows officers taking Wray into custody. She was wearing pink shorts and a hot pink top when she was arrested and placed in handcuffs.

Wray now faces multiple charges stemming from the incident, including two counts of vehicle theft, reckless endangerment, and four counts of felony evading arrest. At the time of the chase, she was already on probation for a forgery conviction in November 2023.

Authorities confirmed that Wray has an extensive criminal record, including prior convictions for aggravated burglary, criminal simulation, cocaine possession, and several counts of theft across the state of Tennessee.
