Wealthy donors are reportedly holding off on pumping around $90 million into the biggest Biden-supporting super PAC until the Democratic Party sorts out its mess.
According to The New York Times [1], contributions of eight-figure amounts are being held back following Joe Biden’s recent debate performance.
The top super PAC for the Biden campaign, Future Forward, is conducting some serious damage control after its poll results were widely shared on the internet.
The leaked poll tested the popularity of potential candidates including Vice President Kamala Harris [2], California Governor Gavin Newsom, Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg.
The numbers reportedly showed that Biden had worse favorability ratings than the other prospects.

The wealthy elite’s hesitation in pumping cash into Biden’s struggling campaign comes in the wake of mounting pressure from lawmakers and party activists for Joe Biden to step aside as the Democratic nominee.
Even entertainers George Clooney [5] and Ashley Judd [6] have added their voices to the chorus calling for Biden to do the honorable thing and bow out.
Despite this turmoil, the 2022 race for the White House remains as close as ever. In a recent national NPR/PBS Newshour/Marist survey, Biden and Trump stand neck and neck in a head-to-head matchup, with Biden leading by a meager 2 points.
However, the poll also reveals that nearly two-thirds of respondents doubt Biden’s mental fitness to lead, including a significant proportion of Democrats.
With such lackluster faith in Biden’s ability to lead the nation, many Americans are wondering if the Democratic Party has anyone else up its sleeve.
