In a recent letter to American college students, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Khamenei praised their protests against Israel and the United States, following the October 7 terrorist attack by Hamas. Khamenei lauded these protests as part of an international “Resistance Front” and encouraged students to familiarize themselves with the Quran. It is critical to remember that the Iranian regime is a notorious state sponsor of terrorism and a principal backer of Hamas.

The protests, mainly at elite universities with significant foreign student populations, were orchestrated by communist and Islamist groups to incite hatred against Israel and Jews and to promote revolution in the United States.

Campus encampments were marked by daily calls to Islamic prayer and Marxist indoctrination chants, showcasing the radical nature of these demonstrations.

Khamenei’s letter represents a bold attempt by the Iranian government to instigate revolution within the United States, exploiting the weak and appeasing stance of the Biden administration.

“Dear university students in the United States of America, you are standing on the right side of history. You have now formed a branch of the Resistance Front and have begun an honorable struggle in the face of your government’s ruthless pressure – which openly supports Zionists…Dear university students in the US, my advice to you is to become familiar with the Quran.”

Khamenei’s letter continues with claims that the Zionist regime is an oppressive force and condemns the U.S. for its support of Israel. He frames the so-called “Resistance Front” as a humane and courageous movement, conveniently ignoring the countless acts of terrorism and violence perpetuated by Hamas and other terrorist groups supported by Iran.

This overt attempt to radicalize American students and foment unrest within the United States is a clear indication of Iran’s hostile intentions and underscores the need for a strong and decisive response from our leadership.
