The UN was created with several fatal flaws.
1. Allowing communist countries, muslim theocracies and dictatorships to join.
2 Allowing communist countries, muslim theocracies and dictatorships on the Security council.
3. Giving communist countries, muslim theocracies and dictatorships on the Security council a veto vote.
NATO and SEATO was all that was needed after WWII. SEATO was a regional defense organization that was created in 1954 and dissolved in 1977.
In November 2020, members of the four-power Asian “Quad” (the U.S., Japan, Australia, India) held joint naval exercises for the first time, a step that U.S. officials see as a significant move toward a formal alliance. Communist Vietnam, a target of Chinese pressure, also agreed to align with the Quad for economic and military security. While most experts on the issue maintain an official skepticism, the grand diplomatic trajectory in Asia appears headed toward some sort of historic realignment.

One more change is required today in NATO.
1. Replace Turkey, a militant muslim theocracy, with Israel, the only democracy in the middle east.
