President Donald Trump has officially returned to TikTok, telling his younger audience they “owe me big” after his administration’s efforts to keep the popular app available to U.S. users through an American-led ownership deal, as reported by The New York Post.
“To all of those young people of TikTok, I saved TikTok, so you owe me big,” President Trump said in a video posted Monday, marking his first appearance on the app in nearly a year.
“Now, you’re looking at me in the Oval Office, and someday one of you are gonna be sitting right at this desk, and you’re gonna be doing a great job also.”

The return to the platform follows the President’s signing of an executive order supporting a plan that transfers majority control of TikTok to a group of U.S. investors. The move ensures the app remains accessible to Americans while blocking access to U.S. user data from China.

The White House confirmed that the new ownership structure would allow an American consortium to license TikTok’s core algorithm while placing oversight responsibilities under U.S. management.
Tech company Oracle, a key partner in the consortium, will be responsible for auditing and monitoring the algorithm to ensure compliance with national security and privacy standards.
The deal is designed to prevent foreign interference and data collection by the Chinese government through TikTok’s Beijing-based parent company, ByteDance.
Officials stated that the agreement prohibits any form of Chinese access to American user data and requires all U.S. operations to remain under domestic oversight.

While the details of the final agreement have not yet been fully disclosed, administration officials described the arrangement as a major national security victory and a step toward establishing long-term protections for American digital platforms.
The President’s reappearance on TikTok quickly drew widespread attention from users and media outlets.
Within hours of posting, the video amassed millions of views and sparked renewed interest among Gen Z voters, many of whom had previously followed Trump’s earlier TikTok presence during the 2024 campaign season.
The platform, which has over 150 million users in the United States, has been at the center of national security discussions for years.
The administration’s recent decision to secure American ownership marks the latest effort to balance user accessibility with concerns over data privacy and foreign influence.
