A municipal worker in northern Thailand was killed Wednesday when a section of road collapsed while he and his colleagues were installing a new pipe, according to local reports, as reported by TMZ.
The unfortunate incident occurred in Don Kaeo, a municipality in Chiang Mai Province. Video of the collapse shows the edge of the road giving way as workers attempted to complete the project. One worker was unable to escape in time and was buried beneath dirt and debris.

Coworkers rushed to free the man, using an excavator to remove heavy soil and digging with shovels and their hands as they got closer. The worker was pulled from the site and taken for medical attention, but did not survive, Matichon reported.
