President Donald Trump said this week that Jeffrey Epstein “stole” Virginia Giuffre and other young female workers from Mar-a-Lago’s spa, leading to the end of their relationship, as reported by The Daily Mail.
The remarks were made Tuesday as Trump returned from a five-day trip to Scotland, and follow earlier comments made to Daily Mail about Epstein poaching staff from the Palm Beach club.
“She worked at the spa,” Trump said, referring to Giuffre. “He stole her.” Trump claimed Epstein targeted multiple Mar-a-Lago employees, hiring them away after visiting the club.

“Everyone knows the people that were taken,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One. “People were taken out of the spa hired by him.”
Trump said he confronted Epstein after learning of the recruitment.
“I didn’t know that. And then when I heard about it, I told him, I said, Listen, we don’t want you taking our people, whether it was spa or not spa. I don’t want you taking people. And he was fine. And then not too long after that, he did it again. And I said, out of here.”

Giuffre, who publicly accused Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell of trafficking, previously stated she was recruited in 2000 while working as a 16-year-old locker room attendant at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump pointed out that she never spoke negatively about her time employed at his club. “She had no complaints about us, as you know, none whatsoever,” he said.

Trump banned Epstein from Mar-a-Lago in 2004. Before that, Epstein and Maxwell were photographed at the club on several occasions, including events attended by Trump and his then-girlfriend Melania.
Over the years, Trump has cited various reasons for cutting ties with Epstein, once describing him as “a creep.”
Other reports have suggested that the final break between the two men may have also involved a bidding dispute over an oceanfront Palm Beach property sold through bankruptcy proceedings.
Giuffre died by suicide in April, according to a statement released by her family. She was one of the most high-profile accusers in the Epstein case.
Her death, along with Epstein’s death in custody in 2019, continues to fuel speculation. Trump supporters have questioned the circumstances surrounding both deaths, and some believe they were killed to silence them.

Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year federal sentence after her 2021 conviction on multiple trafficking-related charges, recently met with Department of Justice officials.
She is scheduled to testify before Congress on August 11. Her legal team requested immunity in exchange for her testimony, but lawmakers denied the request.
Trump has repeatedly called for the Justice Department to release the full list of individuals allegedly involved with Epstein. Supporters of the president continue to press for transparency in the case.
