During his remarks, he took a jab at President-elect Donald Trump, declaring that “nobody can reverse” his so-called green legacy. In a dramatic plea, he urged humanity to safeguard the rainforest, dubbing it the "lungs" of the Earth.

As Biden wrapped up his speech and exited down a pathway flanked by teleprompters, some onlookers seized the moment to suggest the president had wandered off or gotten lost.

In reality, Biden retraced the same path he had entered from. Reporters on the ground quickly clarified that the 81-year-old commander-in-chief had not meandered into the rainforest’s depths, contrary to what social media users speculated.

The viral moment began with the X account @PopBase sharing a clip of Biden’s exit, captioned innocuously: "Joe Biden becomes the first sitting US President to visit the Amazon Rainforest."

However, that was enough to trigger a wave of ridicule.
