President Donald Trump and first lady Melania arrive for Christmas dinner at the ballroom at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Dec. 24, 2019.

Sources close to Melania Trump cited grievances related to the FBI’s 2022 raid on the Trumps’ Mar-a-Lago estate, which was authorized by the Biden-Harris administration as part of an investigation into classified documents allegedly retained by the former president.

A source familiar with the decision shared insight with The New York Post, stating, “She ain’t going. Jill Biden’s husband authorized the FBI snooping through her underwear drawer. The Bidens are disgusting.” The source continued, “Jill Biden isn’t someone Melania needs to meet.”

While Melania Trump has decided not to attend, her husband, President-elect Donald Trump, is scheduled to meet with Joe Biden in the Oval Office on Wednesday.

This post-election tradition, observed by outgoing and incoming presidents, continues despite the tension between the Trump and Biden families.

Following her husband’s election win in 2016, Melania Trump was welcomed to the White House by then-first lady Michelle Obama, who provided a tour.

However, after the 2020 election, then-President Trump did not extend an invitation to the Bidens before their inauguration, breaking with longstanding tradition.

Sources at the time reported that the Trumps were dissatisfied with the election outcome and chose not to facilitate the customary meeting.

The Trump campaign and the White House have not responded to requests for comment on Melania’s decision to skip the meeting with Jill Biden.

However, Melania’s stance follows her outspoken criticism of the FBI’s search of Mar-a-Lago, which she described as an infringement on her family’s privacy and security.

The August 2022 raid on Mar-a-Lago was part of an investigation into classified documents that Donald Trump allegedly retained after leaving office.

FBI agents conducted an extensive search of the Palm Beach residence, inspecting areas that included Melania’s wardrobe, the former president’s office, and reportedly even her son Barron’s room.

Melania Trump later expressed her frustration and dismay in a televised interview with Fox & Friends in September, calling the raid an “invasion of privacy.”

She explained, “Yeah, it made me angry. I saw unpleasant stuff that nobody wants to see. And you get angry because, you know, nobody should be putting up with that kind of stuff.”

The FBI investigation into Donald Trump’s handling of classified documents has been contentious, sparking debate across the political spectrum.

In July, U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon dismissed the case concerning the classified materials, though questions about the investigation’s impact on the Trump family’s decision-making have remained.

The refusal to meet with Jill Biden is Melania’s latest indication of her reluctance to engage with the Biden administration.

Sources have suggested that the FBI’s actions and the ensuing investigation played a key role in shaping her perspective on the current administration, ultimately leading to her decision to forgo the White House invitation.

As the inauguration approaches, the choice not to participate in the traditional meeting reflects ongoing tensions between the two administrations, underscoring the differences between the Trumps and Bidens as Donald Trump prepares to return to the White House.
