On Monday, Piers Morgan and political commentator Dave Rubin took on Democratic strategist Ameshia Cross during an episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored.

As reported by The Daily Caller, Cross claimed former President Donald Trump was showing signs of dementia, but her remarks didn’t sit well with the two conservative figures.

Former president Donald Trump talks about the assassination attempt on him as he speaks to an audience during a town hall meeting at Dort Financial Center in Flint, Michigan on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.

For years, Republicans have voiced concerns over President Joe Biden’s mental health, and this debate has only intensified after Biden's shaky performance during a June debate against Trump.

During the show, Cross asked why Democrats couldn’t go after Trump over his mental fitness, accusing the former president of being unable to “complete sentences,” “stand still,” or “make sense.”

Morgan quickly jumped in, blasting Democrats for their hypocrisy. He pointed out that the party had spent years hiding Biden’s deteriorating condition from the public.

“What I would say about that is, it’s pretty bloody rich of the Democrats, frankly. After hiding the state of Joe Biden for two years from the American people, when he clearly has got onset early dementia. It’s pretty rich to play the dementia card at Trump who basically does a two-hour rock show most nights on stage,” Morgan said, taking a jab at the left.

Dave Rubin didn’t hold back either. He agreed with Morgan and went further, arguing that Biden’s cognitive issues were apparent long before he took office.

Rubin pointed out that many top Democrats, including Nancy Pelosi and Kamala Harris, were most likely fully aware of Biden’s declining health. Rubin believes they likely pushed Biden into the presidency by threatening him with the 25th Amendment.

“It’s not just two years they hid this,” Rubin emphasized. “This started back in 2019. Biden’s condition—whether it’s dementia or Parkinson’s—was obvious to anyone paying attention.”

He went on to reference Biden’s comments on The View, where the president hinted he still believed he could defeat Trump, despite stepping out of the 2024 race.

Rubin then turned his focus to Trump’s campaign activities, calling Cross’ claim that Trump was unfit “absurd.”

He highlighted how Trump has been crisscrossing the country, conducting interviews, podcasts, and leading energetic rallies.

“The guy, whether you like him or not — I get you guys don’t like him — but whether you like him or not you know what the guy thinks and he’s more than happy to explain it to you over and over again. The idea that he now is too old after what they just pulled on Biden is so hypocritical,” Rubin stated, hammering the point home.

Biden's decision to withdraw from the race, framed as being "in the best interest of the party and the country," came amid mounting pressure from his own party.

By mid-July, several Democratic lawmakers and donors had called on him to step aside, and financial support had stalled. As doubts about his ability to lead another term grew, Democrats were forced to rethink their stance on Biden’s health and fitness.
