New footage has been released showing an assassination attempt on former President Trump.
The video was shot by a rallygoer, Jon Malice, and shows a sniper taking out the shooter, Thomas Matthew Crooks, after he opened fire during a campaign event in Butler, Pennsylvania.
Crooks was able to climb the American Glass Research (AGR) building, gaining a clear line of sight of Trump. The former president suffered injuries to his ear from the shooting, while one spectator was killed, and several others were injured in the incident.

Malice explained that he noticed people were starting to say that Crooks was climbing the AGR building, but he and his family thought it was just someone trying to get a better view. Two minutes later, Malice heard "three, then maybe five" rounds before hearing two counter-sniper rounds.

Malice, a military veteran, was surprised by the lack of security around the event site. He noticed that none of the attendees had been vetted, and none of them had gone through metal detectors, even those near the AGR building.
In the video footage captured by Malice's dash camera, Crooks was seen crossing the street before approaching the building without drawing attention. The footage also showed Crooks pointing his rifle at bystanders before being shot by the Secret Service.
