MSNBC has chosen to pull the plug on its widely recognized program, "Morning Joe," in favor of continuing coverage of the recent attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.

The decision to prioritize breaking news over its usual top-rated morning show has been confirmed by the progressive news network, stating that normal programming will resume on Tuesday.

This move by MSNBC to sideline one of its flagship programs during a pivotal moment in the political landscape coinciding with the Republican National Convention and following the attempted assassination of Donald Trump.

According to a source familiar with the situation, the network decided to preempt "Morning Joe" to prevent any potential missteps by its many guests that could be used against the program and network as a whole.

In response to the unfolding events, a spokesperson for NBCUniversal News Group explained the ongoing rolling news coverage to CNN, emphasizing the need to maintain a single news feed across NBC News, NBC News NOW, and "MSNBC Reports" to cover the evolving situation comprehensively.

The call to sideline "Morning Joe" was reportedly made by Cesar Conde, chairman of NBCUniversal News Group, in consultation with MSNBC President Rashida Jones, and hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
