The call came in just before 8:30 a.m., directing officers to the 200 block of Manson Street in Waterloo, Iowa. The situation quickly escalated, leading to the officers being shot in the 1200 block of E 4th Street.
The officers were immediately taken to a local hospital. As of the latest reports, they were in stable condition and required surgery. The suspect involved in the shooting was also shot and is confirmed dead. The circumstances leading to the exchange of gunfire remain unclear at this time.
