A fugitive driver led police on a high-speed chase through Bedworth, Warwickshire, on March 16. Liviu Radu, 29, crashed his car and fled the scene on foot.
Police dashcam footage captured Radu running a red light and being rammed by another police car in Binley Woods. After running into nearby housing, he was located an hour later by a National Police Air Service helicopter, climbing through a window and hiding behind a garbage can before encountering a police dog handler.

He received a 12-month suspended sentence, was fined £1,500, and was banned from driving for 12 months upon appearing before Warwick Crown Court on June 21. He was also ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £187 and prosecution fees of £150.

Suspended sentence? He endangered the public in a wanton manner and deserves a year in the clink to thhink it over. As it is, he’ll be in the pub tonight laughing about it with his friends.
