Surveillance footage captured a vicious attack on a 58-year-old woman in downtown Manhattan. The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon as the victim was walking down Monroe Street in the Two Bridges area. In the footage, two masked individuals dressed in black assaulted the woman from behind with baseball bats while she was engrossed in her cell phone.

 

 

The first suspect delivered a punch to the back of the woman’s head, forcing her against the wall of a nearby store. The second assailant continued the assault, repeatedly striking her with a black baseball bat and attempting to snatch her purse while the other kicked her. Despite their efforts, the attackers fled the scene empty-handed.

Following the assault, the woman was taken to New York Downtown Hospital, where she was treated for bruises on her left leg and swelling on the back of her head. The perpetrators, described as strangers, are currently at large as law enforcement continues to search for them.
