In what conservative pundits claim can only be described as an attempt at election interference, a left-wing group has launched an ad campaign in Pennsylvania, pressuring Republicans to disregard former President Trump’s stance on early voting.
The ad, paid for by the liberal super PAC “Pennsylvania Values,” manipulates old clips of Trump discussing the corruption of mail-in voting—a topic that Trump and the GOP have moved beyond as they encourage Republicans to vote early in the upcoming rematch of the 2020 presidential election.
The ad, titled “MAGA Patriots Listen To Our President!” features a black and white photo of Trump along with a dramatic voiceover of his previous statement: “Mail-in voting is totally corrupt. Get that through your head!” Conservative organizations working tirelessly to promote voter turnout in battleground Pennsylvania and other key states view this ad as yet another example of the disinformation campaigns regularly waged by the left, Big Tech, and the Deep State—campaigns that they have consistently condemned and effectively shut down.

This is brazen election interference and a direct response to what we are doing in Pennsylvania with mail-in ballots & Republican voter registration.
This is NOT how President Trump feels. This is a lie. Timed deliberately with his rally in my home state of PA. https://t.co/WaAbJnKEPN pic.twitter.com/8dqOxWm8bX— Sean Parnell (@SeanParnellUSA) June 22, 2024

Responding to the ad, Sentinel Action Fund, Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), and Keystone Renewal PAC issued a joint press release denouncing Pennsylvania Values as a left-wing super PAC committed to silencing conservative voices and suppressing Republican voter turnout by any means necessary. “To use the Left’s terminology,” stated Sentinel Action Fund President Jessica Anderson, RSLC PAC President Dee Duncan, and Keystone Renewal PAC Spokesman Kaelan Dorr, “this new ad buy is ‘disinformation,’ completely mischaracterizing conservatives’ views os early voting.”

The tactics employed by Pennsylvania Values should come as no surprise, as it reflects the level of sleaze and underhandedness that Americans have come to expect from the political left. This is a clear example of Democrats “forecasting the dirty tricks” they are “willing” to employ in their desperate bid to reelect Joe Biden.

Contrary to Pennsylvania Values’ misleading ad, President Trump and Republicans across Pennsylvania have wholeheartedly embraced mail-in voting. Evidence of this can be seen in the Republican National Committee’s ‘Swamp the Vote’ campaign and the unprecedented vote-by-mail initiative launched earlier this year by the Sentinel Action Fund, RSLC, and Keystone Renewal PAC.
In fact, the groups made history in March with an eight-figure investment aimed at putting Republicans in a position to win by utilizing the same vote-by-mail strategy that Democrats have successfully employed in the past.
The GOTV (Get Out The Vote) effort orchestrated by these conservative political action committees has been in full swing, with multiple rounds of mailers and digital ads targeting approximately 1.2 million low-propensity voters in Pennsylvania. These are eligible voters who rarely participate in elections. The campaign focuses on Republicans who have voted only once or twice in the past four election cycles, making them crucial for both the upcoming presidential election and David McCormick’s bid to win Pennsylvania.

Maria L. Galdo, listed as the treasurer for Pennsylvania Values on their filings with the Federal Election Commission, failed to respond to requests for comment. Open Secrets reports that the Lancaster, Pennsylvania-based leftist super PAC has funneled nearly $470,000 into the 2022 election cycle.

Liam Donovan, a prominent political commentator, expressed surprise at the misleading tactics employed by the PAC, stating that it is the first time he has observed such a strategy.

The older statements from Trump about all mail-in and early voting being corrupt ar true, So I’ve never understood why Trump, and numerous others, supposedly on the MAGA side, would encourage this, Now I wonder whether the Dems are pushing as a form of reverse psychology, because they actually want MAGA folks to vote early. It gives them more time to count up how many phony ballots they need to push onto the input stream.
