In Jacksonville, Florida, a man who reportedly fired into a group of three individuals early Sunday morning ended up being on the receiving end of gunfire, as he was shot in the face and is currently recuperating.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office responded to a shooting incident at 10000 Atlantic Blvd at approximately 3 a.m. The man, in his 40s, sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the face and was promptly transported to a local hospital for treatment.
According to the JSO, the individual who suffered the gunshot wound is assumed to be the suspect. An altercation ensued between the suspect and a trio of individuals, leading the suspect to discharge a shotgun at the group.

In response, one member of the group reportedly fired at the suspect, an action described by the agency as "in an act of self-defense." The victims have been cooperative with law enforcement, noted JSO.
