NASCAR's top drivers converged in Iowa for the 2024 Iowa Corn 350, marking the first-ever Cup Series race at this short track. The new surface presented challenges for many, including Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, and Kyle Busch, who struggled and fell down the leaderboard.

Ultimately, Ryan Blaney emerged victorious, winning his first race of the season. Blaney, the reigning Cup Series champion, dominated the race by leading 200 laps, more than he had led throughout the season up to that point. Despite a strong push from Hendrick Motorsports star William Byron in the final laps, Blaney maintained his lead.

With 80 friends and family members watching, Blaney made history as the first Cup Series driver to win at this venue. He celebrated with a tire burnout, a rare move for him, even after significant wins.
