Led by Luka Doncic, the Mavericks dominant 122-84 victory over the Celtics in Game 4 on Friday night gave them some life and a chance to continue in the NBA Finals Monday night in game 5.
However, in order to keep the series going the Mavericks will need another performance like game 4. Doncic and Irving combined for 50 points on Friday and will have to be at their best again, while keeping the Celtics offense in check.
The Celtics shot themselves in the foot on Friday with 13 turnovers and shooting below 50 percent. The Mavericks should not count on a similar performance by the Celtics who will be in front of their home crowd and looking to close the series out capturing their 18th title, a league high.
Currently both the Celtics and Los Angeles Lakers have 17 NBA titles to their names. A win Monday night or in any of the subsequent games, should they be necessary, will put the Celtics atop of NBA royalty.
