Former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann took aim at the Associated Press, unleashing a fiery Twitter tirade in response to their publication about former President Trump's recent visit with Republican lawmakers. "Fire everybody," Olbermann tweeted in response to the AP's portrayal of Trump's return as "triumphant," citing their use of the headline, "Cheers, cake and a fist-bump from GOP as Trump returns to Capitol Hill in a first since Jan. 6 riot."

Expressing surprise that the Associated Press continues to operate, Olbermann denounced their article as "wanton, biased, compromised, prostituted, unsurvivable pile of Trump-sucking propaganda." He provocatively likened it to something that would have embarrassed Hitler's propaganda minister, Joseph Goebbels.

The AP's article also documented Trump being "embraced by energized House and Senate Republicans who find themselves reinvigorated by his bid to retake the White House." However, it also mentioned the symbolism of Trump's return amid concerns over the peaceful transfer of power due to events following the 2020 election.

Olbermann did not specify the specific aspects of the AP's report that he deemed biased in favor of Trump, while the AP did not offer immediate comments in response to his criticism.

Here's What They're Not Telling You About Your Retirement

In response to Olbermann's tweet, the Trump campaign pushed back against Biden's supporters, characterizing them as intolerant of free press and in favor of retribution against dissenting voices. A Trump campaign spokesperson conveyed to Fox News, "Joe Biden and his supporters are now showing they are anti-press and in favor of punishing anyone who does not parrot their propaganda. They are a threat to democracy."

During his visit, Trump engaged in discussions with Republican lawmakers on a range of policy priorities, including Social Security and Medicare, border security, crime, and tax rates. Trump declared "great unity" among GOP members and emphasized a shared commitment to "Make America Great Again."

Olbermann, known for his vocal opposition to Trump and his infamous exits from MSNBC and ESPN, has consistently criticized the former president. Notably, he even moved out of his New York City apartment building due to its ownership by Trump. In the past, Olbermann drew heavy scrutiny when the cover of his anti-Trump book displayed an image of himself draped in the American flag, which was visibly touching the ground, in violation of U.S. flag code.
