There are new reports that Kurt Russell may be involved in a "Yellowstone" spin-off series by Taylor Sheridan.

The fifth and final season of "Yellowstone" is set to return in November.

Although the original series is ending, a spinoff has been in development for some time. Several key cast members are expected to appear, but a lead actor has not been finalized yet.

Previous rumors suggested Matthew McConaughey might take the lead role, but nothing has been confirmed.

Now, it appears that another legendary actor might take the helm.

Jeff Sneider reported (via JoBlo) that the renowned "Miracle" actor is "circling a role in the project." While nothing is official, adding Russell would be an excellent addition to the "Yellowstone" universe.

One thing is certain, Sheridan needs a big star to anchor the spinoff. While having original cast members is beneficial, an A-list actor is necessary to fill the void left by Kevin Costner after his departure from the show.

And if you're Sheridan and your options are Matthew McConaughey or Kurt Russell, it would seem you can't go wrong.
