Former President Donald Trump's campaign is ramping up efforts to vet potential running mates ahead of the Republican Party's presidential nominating convention. According to sources, the campaign has requested documents from several contenders for the 2024 GOP vice presidential nomination. The process has entered a new phase, with paperwork being exchanged as part of the vetting process.

Among those being considered by the Trump campaign are North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, and Ohio Senator JD Vance. However, sources close to the campaign suggest that the list extends beyond these three names. Also undergoing vetting are Arkansas Senator Tom Cotton, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, Florida Representative Byron Donalds, New York Representative Elise Stefanik, and former Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson.

When asked about the vetting process, Representative Donalds declined to comment, stating that he would leave the matter alone. It is expected that the list of potential running mates will continue to evolve as the campaign progresses.
