ICE Issues Detainer for Haitian Illegal Alien Accused of Brutal Murder After Biden Release [WATCH]

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has lodged an immigration detainer against Valmir Djempsley, a 20-year-old Haitian national, who is charged with the death of a co-worker at a Michigan meat processing plant, as reported [1] by The Post Millennial.

According to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Djempsley is accused of killing 21-year-old Brandon Eduardo Velasquez Chavez during an incident on June 30 at the Clemens Food Group pork processing plant in Coldwater, Michigan.

The two men worked together in the plant’s loin boning production area.

DHS said ICE has asked Michigan authorities not to release Djempsley from custody without first notifying the agency.

Acting DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis said:

“This illegal alien barbarically stabbed his coworker to death.”

She also stated:

“This murderer was released into American communities by the Biden Administration. If it weren’t for the reckless open border policies of the Biden Administration, this criminal never would have been in our country in the first place, and his victim would still be alive. We have lodged a detainer asking Michigan to not release this dangerous criminal from jail without notifying ICE.”

According to court documents, an altercation occurred between Djempsley and Chavez shortly before the incident. Prosecutors allege Chavez had one of Djempsley’s assigned work knives, which reportedly angered him.

Witnesses told investigators they saw Djempsley chase Chavez through the processing plant before attacking him. Authorities said Chavez died at the scene.

Djempsley told investigators that Chavez had “head-butted” him during the confrontation. According to the report, witnesses were unable to corroborate that claim.

DHS said Djempsley unlawfully entered the United States through Texas in 2024. The department said he was apprehended and later released into the country by the Biden administration.

Djempsley pleaded not guilty to the murder charge on July 1. He remains in custody at the Branch County Jail and faces a possible sentence of life in prison if convicted.
