Arizona Cardinals quarterback Jacoby Brissett is set to report for the team’s mandatory minicamp this week, according to sources who spoke with ESPN. Brissett had skipped the entire offseason program while seeking a reworked contract for the upcoming season.
Under terms of the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, Brissett faced potential fines totaling $107,911 had he continued his holdout. Sources said he missed Arizona’s Phase 1 and Phase 2 workouts as well as all three organized team activities.
The Cardinals will hold minicamp practices on Tuesday and Wednesday in Tempe, Arizona. While Brissett will attend, sources said it is uncertain how much on-field work he will take part in during the sessions.
Brissett is seeking a restructured deal for the second year of a two-year contract he originally signed with Arizona in March 2025. His current contract pays him $4.88 million, with potential earnings up to $5.39 million, and includes $1.5 million in guaranteed money.
In comparison, Gardner Minshew II, signed by the Cardinals as a free agent in March, received $5.14 million guaranteed for 2026. The difference in guaranteed money has been part of the discussion between Brissett’s representatives and the team.
A source told ESPN that no agreement is expected in the coming days, meaning Brissett will report to minicamp without a renegotiated deal in place. In May, another source described the two sides as “significantly” far apart in negotiations.
Last season, Brissett started 12 games for Arizona and finished 2025 as the NFL’s top-ranked quarterback from Week 6 onward in several statistical categories. During that span, he led the league in dropbacks, play-actions, completions, and attempts after taking over as starter when Kyler Murray was injured.
In addition, Brissett ranked second in passing yards and fourth in completion percentage above expected over the same time frame. Those figures underscored his performance following his promotion to starter during the 2025 campaign.
While minicamp marks his official return to team activities, the uncertainty surrounding contract terms remains unresolved. The situation leaves open whether Brissett will participate fully in on-field work during the two scheduled practices.
