Barack Obama’s latest moral lecture about presidential ethics has struck a nerve, and not for the reasons he might hope.
Appearing comfortably in the liberal bubble of Stephen Colbert’s studio, Obama smugly decried the supposed misuse of the Justice Department.
The irony of it all is staggering.
“The White House shouldn't be able to direct the attorney general to go around prosecuting whoever,” Obama said.
Here's What They're Not Telling You About Your Retirement
“The idea is that the attorney general is the people's lawyer. It's not the president's consigliere.” If there were an Olympic event for self awareness, Obama would finish dead last.
Conservatives still remember how his own administration twisted the Department of Justice into a political weapon.
Eric Holder, Obama’s attorney general, literally called himself the president’s “wingman.”
That revelation alone should forever disqualify Obama from lecturing anyone about prosecutorial integrity.

Then came Merrick Garland under Joe Biden, following the same partisan model, hurling indictments at President Donald Trump like candy from a parade float.
The left calls it “justice.” Normal Americans call it political persecution.
White House spokeswoman Abigail Jackson laid it out plainly, saying, “Barack Hussein Obama is the king of weaponization.”
She added that declassified documents have tied Obama to the early meetings that sparked what became the infamous Russia hoax against then candidate Donald Trump.
Jackson concluded, “President Trump has restored integrity to the Department of Justice that Obama and Biden broke.” Hard to argue with that assessment.
While Colbert’s audience chuckled obediently, conservative commentator Dan Bongino was far less amused.
On his radio show, Bongino took direct aim at Obama’s smug posturing.
The former Secret Service agent and FBI official did not mince words, sending a warning that left listeners leaning forward in silence.
“You know, I know things too, Mr. President, and so do you,” Bongino said pointedly.
“You were the president. I was just the deputy director of the FBI, but it’s not a small thing, and I’m not letting you get away with this. No chance.”

Those are the words of a man who has seen the inner machinery of Washington corruption up close.
That statement alone sent a tremor through political media.
Bongino is not some anonymous keyboard warrior.
He has held access to some of the nation’s most sensitive intelligence. When he says he “knows things,” it carries weight. And his message to Obama was clear. He is not bluffing.
Rumors are swirling that Bongino’s cryptic remarks may relate to the origins of the Russia collusion hoax, surveillance programs, or the unmasking of Trump associates.
Whether those leads bear fruit remains to be seen, but the point is unmistakable.
The left may have assumed those stories safely buried, but Bongino’s tone suggested that certain truths could surface at any time.
For years, the mainstream press crafted the mythology of Obama as the “scandal free” president.
That myth holds only because the media works overtime to sanitize the record. From Operation Fast and Furious to IRS targeting of conservatives to the wiretapping of journalists, Obama left a trail of abuses the corporate press would never tolerate from a Republican.
Obama now wants to play the role of “elder statesman” swooping in to defend democracy from Trump.
The problem for him is that people like Bongino remember exactly what democracy looked like under his watch, and it was not pretty.
The surveillance of political opponents and lies to the American people about Russian interference happened under Obama, not Trump.
The smirking late night interviews can only do so much. The country is not as naive as Obama seems to think.
Every time he reappears to pontificate, conservatives are reminded of the unchecked arrogance that defined his years in office.
Bongino’s warning served as a cold reminder that secrets rarely stay buried forever, especially in Washington.
Obama might believe his legacy is unshakable, that he can rewrite history through carefully chosen media appearances.

But Bongino’s candid statement cut through that illusion like a blade.
It told the former president that some people still remember the truth, and that truth could yet see daylight.
For the radical left’s media allies, the danger is obvious.
If Bongino or others with firsthand knowledge begin revealing what they know, the cozy narrative built around the Obama years collapses.
That is why the establishment scrambles to preserve the image of Obama as a saintly figure above the dirty business of politics.
Something tells me Bongino is not finished. He is a man who rarely speaks without purpose, and his tone suggested more to come.
If Obama wants to keep talking about “misusing the Justice Department,” he may soon find that conversation travels in both directions.
America deserves answers, and Bongino sounds ready to start asking the right questions.

… anything to do with Obama’s sexual orientation or foreign birth?
GIVE me a f’n break.. who wants to hear a word from Bongino? not me… listen, he spent YEARS touting/yammering on and on about his bonafides as a cop, FBI, secret service and his friendship w/President Trump… then he gets the opportunity of a lifetime … gives it a year then bounces… NOW we’re supposed to listen to his click bait shit? not me, not ever … go away Bongino….
Is that you Micheal..?
Obozo, that you?
What’s this, troll day? You don’t have to believe Bongino or criticize his time as Deputy to Patel. What Obama said is a matter of record, and his cabinet toadies carried out the Russian scam for political purposes. You don’t need “a break”. You need to be able to believe what you know to be true.
And now Obama is going to Canada to meet with Carney, and “speak” and some “think tank” up there. Why? This whole thing has involved many players, and until some of them start getting charged, Especially Obama, things will never change. So the AG needs to get off his backside and bring him up on charges for treason for starters. For trying to carry out a coup against a sitting POTUS. He’s still running this scam. And then he needs to go after Killary next, and everyone else involved. People are losing their confidence in this admin, because none of them have been charged or arrested yet. I get that they have to make sure the charges are going to stick, but sounds like, with the declassified documents Tulsi released, they have them and are finding more all the time. Let’s Go!!!
