An Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer was hospitalized with neck injuries after a criminal illegal alien attempted to run over agents during an enforcement operation in Texas, prompting renewed warnings from ICE leadership about the growing dangers officers face on the ground.
The incident was discussed during an exchange between Fox News host Sean Hannity and ICE Director Todd Lyons, who described the attack as part of a broader pattern of escalating violence against federal immigration officers.
“Here with reaction. ICE Director, Todd Lyons, Todd, I mean, if that doesn't educate the public about these ramming incidents, I don't know what else will on top of what happened,” Hannity said.
“You know, previously, we now have three in recent days, very dangerous. Now, do you tie a lot of this danger to the rhetoric of people like Tim Walz, who compares ICE to Gestapo?”

Lyons responded by linking the violence to public statements made by elected officials that, he said, encourage interference with federal law enforcement operations.
“Yeah. Sean, unfortunately, when we hear elected officials calling upon individuals to impede or obstruct, you know, ICE law enforcement operations nationwide, you're going to see incidents like this, you know,” Lyons said.
According to Lyons, the Texas incident involved ICE agents attempting to apprehend a criminal illegal alien when the suspect used a vehicle as a weapon, striking an ICE vehicle and injuring an officer.
“And that was a video you're probably not going to see on Main Street media, right? That actually shows exactly what's happening,” Lyons said.

“You know. You saw the officers and agents attempting to apprehend a criminal illegal alien, and there they are using their car as a weapon, the lead vehicle, the ICE vehicle, the gray one that was struck that officer had to go to the hospital with neck injuries.”
Lyons said the incident was not isolated and reflects what ICE officers are increasingly encountering during enforcement operations across the country.
“And every day, Sean, this is what the men and women of ICE are facing,” Lyons said.
“It's constant impediments, constant attacks like this.”

He warned that the consequences extend beyond the safety of federal officers and pose a broader public risk.
“And you know, it's not safe for my folks. It's not safe for the public,” Lyons said.
“It really needs to stop.”
WATCH:
The Texas collision adds to a series of recent incidents in which ICE officers have been assaulted or obstructed while carrying out immigration enforcement duties.
Lyons said such encounters are becoming more frequent as rhetoric from political leaders intensifies and public opposition to ICE operations grows in certain jurisdictions.
ICE officials have repeatedly stated that their agents are encountering increased resistance during routine arrests, traffic stops, and targeted operations, particularly in areas where state and local leaders publicly criticize federal enforcement efforts.
Lyons said the combination of hostile rhetoric, physical obstruction, and violent resistance has created a dangerous environment for agents and civilians alike, stressing that enforcement actions are focused on criminal illegal aliens and are conducted under federal authority.
