A child’s birthday party in Stockton turned into a homicide scene Saturday evening after gunfire erupted inside a local banquet hall, leaving four people dead and ten others injured, according to the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, as reported by TMZ [1].
Deputies were called to the scene at around 6 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting during the family gathering.

When deputies entered the banquet hall, they discovered four individuals who had died from gunshot wounds. Ten additional victims were found wounded and were transported to nearby hospitals.
Authorities said the conditions of the surviving victims were not immediately available.
Heather Bren, a spokesperson for the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office, said the early stages of the investigation indicate the attack was targeted.
