Viral Cruise Video Shows Passenger Trapped in Massive Ocean Slide [WATCH]

A viral TikTok video captured a cruise passenger trapped inside a water slide more than 100 feet above the ocean, prompting alarm from fellow travelers and millions of viewers online, as reported [1] by The New York Post.

The 13-second clip shows a woman stuck in the middle of a transparent slide tube while the ocean roared beneath her.

The passenger is seen attempting to inch herself forward using her arms as other guests yelled in shock. “Oh my God, she’s literally stuck,” one bystander can be heard saying.

The TikTok has been viewed more than 7 million times and has received nearly 250,000 likes. It was posted with the popular “Jet2 Holiday” sound and quickly drew reactions from viewers who expressed panic at the situation.

“Anyone else having a panic attack watching this?” one commenter wrote.

Another said, “Stuck in a waterslide over actual ocean water would send me into a psychosis.”

The post did not specify the cruise line involved, but the vessel resembles Norwegian Cruise Line’s Bliss, which features a double-looped slide known as Ocean Loops.

According to Cruisemapper, the Bliss was sailing a seven-day Alaskan cruise off the coast of Victoria, British Columbia, on September 19.

The Ocean Loops slide requires riders to stand on a trap door that suddenly releases, sending them through loops that extend 11 feet beyond the edge of the ship and suspend passengers 159 feet over the water before emptying into a pool onboard.

Norwegian lists requirements for the ride, including a minimum rider height of 40 inches and a weight between 120 and 300 pounds.

It remains unclear whether the woman was able to free herself, though commenters alleged the slide is equipped with emergency hatches that staff can open to release stuck passengers.

This was not the first reported incident on Norwegian’s Ocean Loops. In 2022, another video showed a female passenger becoming trapped in the same slide. According to the original poster, she was quickly freed and even attempted the ride again.

Cruise water slide safety has been under scrutiny in recent months. In August, a separate incident aboard Royal Caribbean’s Icon of the Seas went viral when a glass panel shattered mid-ride, causing water to gush out while guests shouted for the slide to stop.

A male passenger was injured in that incident and received medical treatment, though details of his injuries were not released.

The NYPD was not involved in the Norwegian case, and Norwegian Cruise Line has not issued a public statement about the viral video.
