Actor Tom Holland was hospitalized Friday after sustaining a concussion while filming the upcoming Marvel installment Spider-Man: Brand New Day at Leavesden Studios in Watford, England, as reported [1] by The New York Post.
The 29-year-old reportedly “cracked his head” during a stunt gone wrong, according to the Daily Mail. Holland was treated for a mild concussion and released from the hospital. No other members of the cast or crew were injured during the incident.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Holland will take several days off from filming while recovering. Sony Pictures is expected to review production schedules in light of the pause, with meetings planned for Monday to discuss adjustments.
Despite the accident, Holland made a public appearance the following day alongside his fiancée and co-star Zendaya. The couple attended an event at Christie’s auction house in London, where Holland hosted a “Posh Pub Quiz” for The Brothers Trust, the charity he runs with his three brothers.
A photo shared by Java Joy co-founder Laura Hope Whitaker showed the pair posing together at the fundraiser.
Holland and Zendaya, both 29, became engaged late last year. At Saturday’s event, Holland wore a black suit with a white shirt and bowtie, while Zendaya wore a black dress.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day began filming on August 1 in Glasgow, Scotland. The film will mark Holland’s fourth standalone performance as the Marvel superhero.

Before filming began, Holland revealed the movie’s July 31, 2026 release date on Instagram and teased the new Spider-Man costume with the caption, “Are you ready?”
The film, directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, is set between the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday.
Zendaya will reprise her role as Michelle “MJ” Jones, while Jacob Batalon returns as Ned Leeds. Other confirmed cast members include Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Michael Mando as the Scorpion, Sadie Sink, and Liza Colón-Zayas.
Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige recently spoke about Holland’s fourth solo Spider-Man film, telling Collider in July that the story would explore a new chapter for Peter Parker.
“I think there’s a promise at the end of No Way Home, that for as sad as it is that Peter is forgotten by everyone in his life, we are seeing for the first time in the Tom Holland ‘Spider-Man’ stories, him being a proper Spider-Man,” Feige said.
He added that the next chapter would focus on Spider-Man “being by himself, dedicated to saving the city, and dealing with street-level crime, as opposed to world-ending events.”
Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 31, 2026.
