The FBI has released [1] new video footage showing a person of interest in the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk fleeing the scene at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.
Kirk was fatally shot while hosting one of his campus events, sparking a nationwide outpouring of grief and calls for justice.
The video, made public Thursday night during a press conference held by the FBI and the Utah Department of Public Safety, shows the suspect moments after the shooting.
Dressed in all black, the man is seen running across the roof of a university building before slowing at the edge, scaling down to the ground, and walking casually through a nearby parking lot toward a wooded area.
Authorities said the individual discarded a firearm during his escape.
Still photographs released earlier the same day depicted the suspect as a “college-aged” man wearing a black cap with a triangle emblem, along with a black shirt featuring an American flag and eagle.

Officials said the man left behind palm impressions and smudges on the roof that investigators believe could provide DNA evidence to assist in identifying him.
Despite the release of the video, officials reported no new leads or arrests during the Thursday briefing.
They reiterated their request for public assistance in tracking down the suspect, pointing to an FBI tip line and highlighting a $100,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
Authorities also confirmed that the volume of information coming in has been unprecedented.
The FBI said it has received more than 7,000 tips related to Kirk’s assassination — the highest number in a single investigation since the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013.
Kirk was killed Wednesday afternoon while appearing at Utah Valley University for one of his signature “Prove Me Wrong” debates, the first stop on his “American Comeback” tour.
The event drew a large crowd of supporters and protesters alike. According to witnesses, the gunfire erupted suddenly, striking Kirk in the neck.
Footage recorded by attendees shows Kirk collapsing as he fell from his chair.
Witnesses described chaotic scenes as both supporters and demonstrators fled the hall while his security detail carried him out. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
The assassination of Kirk, a prominent conservative voice and founder of Turning Point USA, has reverberated across the political landscape.
His death prompted immediate statements of support from allies, including President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance.
The White House confirmed that Kirk has been posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in recognition of his national influence and his role in advancing conservative causes.
Investigators emphasized that the search for the suspect remains their top priority, and they encouraged anyone with information to come forward.
Officials described the case as highly active and ongoing, with multiple agencies coordinating efforts to review evidence and follow leads.
With national attention fixed on the case, law enforcement continues to pursue all avenues to bring the perpetrator into custody.
