Attorney General Pam Bondi said Friday that the “weaponization” of the legal system has ended following the Department of Justice’s indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.
Bondi made the remarks during an appearance on Fox News’ Hannity, addressing concerns about the state of justice in the United States.
The DOJ announced Thursday that Comey faces one count of making a false statement within the jurisdiction of the legislative branch and one count of obstruction of a congressional investigation.
The charges follow years of scrutiny over Comey’s handling of investigations related to the Trump administration and the 2016 election.

During the broadcast, host Sean Hannity reviewed the legal hurdles President Donald Trump has faced, citing the Russia investigation and the suppression of information related to Hunter Biden’s laptop.
Hannity told Bondi that he remained “nervous for the country.”
“You shouldn’t be nervous any longer because Donald Trump is in office, and the weaponization has ended. We’ve made that very clear,” Bondi responded.
“Whether you’re a former FBI director, whether you’re a former head of an Intel community, whether you are a current state or local elected official, whether you’re a billionaire funding organizations to try to keep Donald Trump out of office. Everything is on the table.”

Bondi emphasized accountability moving forward.
“We will investigate you, and we will end the weaponization. No longer will there be a two-tier system of justice. We are working hand-in-hand — [FBI] Director [Kash] Patel and I [with] Todd Blanche, with our incredible intel community [Director of National Intelligence] Tulsi Gabbard [and] [CIA Director] John Radcliffe, going non-stop around the clock. People will be held accountable,” she said.
The indictment against Comey stems from statements he made in September 2020 during testimony before Congress.
According to the DOJ, Comey falsely claimed that he had not authorized anyone at the FBI to act as an anonymous source.
The indictment alleges that this assertion was untrue.
Comey’s 2020 testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee also included claims that he was unaware of problems with the Steele dossier, which was used to support surveillance applications against Trump campaign figures.
Igor Danchenko, the primary source for Christopher Steele, had already raised questions about the credibility of the information, but Comey testified that he had not been informed of those issues by his staff.
At that same hearing, Comey stated he could not “recall” details from a 2016 briefing that raised concerns within the DOJ about the dossier’s political bias against Trump.
Reports earlier in the week suggested that the DOJ was preparing to seek a grand jury indictment of Comey before a legal deadline expired.
On Thursday, the department confirmed the charges.
In July, revelations from the FBI indicated that current Director Kash Patel uncovered “burn bags” filled with thousands of documents linked to efforts to discredit Trump during the Russia investigation.

According to Fox News, one recovered item was described as a classified annex to Special Counsel John Durham’s final report.
That annex was expected to include details about the FBI’s role in promoting the Russia collusion narrative.
The charges against Comey mark a significant development in ongoing efforts to reexamine the origins and handling of the Russia investigation.
The Trump administration has said repeatedly that partisan efforts within government agencies unfairly targeted the President, and the DOJ’s indictment of Comey signals a shift in the handling of those cases.

Excluding putting the spotlight on the deep state actors who staged the blatant 2020 steal. And this will cost MAGA the mid-term House and likely Senate in 2026 and Trump an impeachment if they don’t prevent the electoral system from being flooded by fake ballots, ballot mules and mail-in ballots and early ballots and ballots fudged through sharpies which cause suspended adjudication so they can exploit blown-up voter rolls..
