Police in New York City discovered the body of a man in his 30s floating in Newtown Creek on Thursday afternoon, marking the latest in a string of grim discoveries in the waterway that divides Brooklyn and Queens, as reported [1] by The New York Post.
According to law enforcement, officers responded to a 911 call around 12:15 p.m. near North Henry Street and Kingsland Avenue in Greenpoint.

When they arrived, they found the man unconscious and unresponsive in the water. Emergency Medical Services pronounced him dead at the scene.
Authorities noted that the man was still wearing a hospital bracelet with an August date on it, though it remains unclear which hospital had issued it. The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the official cause of death.
The discovery is the third incident connected to Newtown Creek in recent months. Just one week earlier, police reported that the decomposed body of another unidentified man had been recovered in the creek, near Malt Drive in Long Island City.
