A 17-year-old girl and a 24-year-old man were injured in separate violent incidents that unfolded within minutes of each other and just blocks apart in Manhattan on Sunday evening, according to the New York Police Department, as reported [1] by The New York Post.
The first incident occurred at approximately 5:00 p.m. when the 24-year-old man was stabbed in the right buttocks near 28th Street and Madison Avenue, police said.
Just one minute later, at 5:01 p.m., the 17-year-old girl was struck by a stray bullet while standing on the corner of 27th Street and Park Avenue in the Rose Hill neighborhood.

Authorities said the teenager was not the intended target of the shooting. Both victims were transported to Bellevue Hospital, where they were listed in stable condition.
The two attacks came shortly after the conclusion of the Mexican Day Parade, which had wrapped up about an hour earlier on 27th Street and Madison Avenue.
While the timing and proximity of the stabbing and the shooting raised concerns, investigators said the two incidents are believed to be unrelated.
