Country music star Morgan Wallen unintentionally struck former Major League Baseball player José Bautista’s wife, Neisha, with a baseball bat during a pre-concert walkout in Ontario, Canada, on Friday night, as reported [1] by The New York Post.
The incident occurred before Wallen’s second show at Rogers Centre as part of his I’m the Problem tour.

Video from the backstage moment shows Wallen walking alongside Bautista when the retired Toronto Blue Jays outfielder handed him a baseball bat.
Wallen, 32, swung the bat and mimicked Bautista’s famous 2015 postseason bat flip, but his toss landed off-target. The bat struck Neisha Bautista, who was standing nearby recording the moment on her phone.
“Oh sh*t!” Neisha exclaimed before others nearby asked if she was alright. Wallen and Bautista, who appeared unaware that she had been hit, continued hamming it up for cameras as Wallen ran out to begin his performance.

Bautista later confirmed that his wife was not injured. In an interview with ETalkCTV, he explained, “I talked him into doing the bat flip, and funny enough, my wife ended up getting hit by the bat. But she’s completely fine. It was a complete accident and she’s totally okay.”
Neisha Bautista posted her own footage of the mishap on Instagram Stories, writing, “When Morgan Wallen bat flips your husband’s bat and hits you,” along with laughing emojis.
Wallen has not publicly commented on the incident but shared his own clip of the walkout on Instagram.
Bautista’s original bat flip became one of the most memorable moments in recent baseball history.
In 2015, after hitting a three-run homer against the Texas Rangers in Game 5 of the American League Division Series, Bautista famously flipped his bat as the Blue Jays advanced to the next round of the playoffs.
The incident adds to a string of headline-making moments for Wallen in recent years. In 2021, video surfaced of him using a racial slur outside his home, prompting widespread backlash.
Last year, he was arrested in Tennessee after throwing a chair from a rooftop bar. Earlier this year, Wallen also made news after abruptly leaving the stage following a performance on Saturday Night Live.
Despite past controversies, Wallen’s I’m the Problem album, released in March, has been a commercial success, and his arena tour continues to draw large crowds across North America.
