CNN senior political contributor Scott Jennings called on federal authorities after far-left commentator Keith Olbermann launched a string of threats against him in a social media tirade tied to Disney’s handling of late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, as reported [1] by The Gateway Pundit.
The conflict began when Jennings criticized ABC’s decision to reinstate Kimmel following his widely condemned remarks about the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
Jennings wrote on X that Kimmel’s suspension had nothing to do with government overreach but rather workplace accountability.

Olbermann reacted with a profanity-laced rant that included a chilling warning directed at Jennings. “You’re next, motherf**ker… But keep mugging to the camera,” Olbermann wrote in one of the since-deleted posts.

In another message, Olbermann escalated further, saying, “Now we get the fascists off real tv. That’d mean your career is next, Jennings. Send a tape to Real America’s Voice But keep mugging to camera, amateur,” according to reporting from the Daily Mail.
Given the direct nature of the threat and heightened tensions following Kirk’s assassination, Jennings flagged FBI Director Kash Patel in his post sharing screenshots of Olbermann’s remarks.

This is not the first time Olbermann has lashed out in recent weeks. Just days earlier, he blasted Sinclair Broadcast Group after it announced it would no longer carry Kimmel’s show on its ABC affiliates.
Sinclair executives had objected to the network’s decision to bring Kimmel back after his controversial monologue.
“Mr. Kimmel’s remarks were inappropriate and deeply insensitive at a critical moment for our country,” Sinclair Vice Chairman Jason Smith said in a statement.
“We believe broadcasters have a responsibility to educate and elevate respectful, constructive dialogue in our communities. We appreciate FCC Chairman Carr’s remarks today, and this incident highlights the critical need for the FCC to take immediate regulatory action to address control held over local broadcasters by the big national networks.”
Smith added that Sinclair stations would instead air a special program honoring Kirk during Kimmel’s scheduled slot.
Olbermann responded to the announcement with another attack, writing, “Burn in hell…..alongside Charlie Kirk.”
The situation places Disney, ABC, and its affiliates in the center of an intensifying clash over broadcast standards, free expression, and corporate responsibility.
Jennings’ call to federal law enforcement indicates the matter has now escalated beyond a media spat into one of potential public safety concern.
