A fight broke out in the outfield stands at Angel Stadium on Wednesday night during a game between the Los Angeles Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers, resulting in two arrests.

The altercation, captured on video and widely shared on social media, began when a man wearing a Mike Trout Angels jersey was punched by another individual dressed in a black shirt.

The Angels fan fell back into his seat before a Dodgers supporter ran behind him and kicked him in the head.

According to TMZ Sports, Anaheim police said the incident appeared to have started over the theft of a hat. Authorities did not release details about who allegedly took the hat.

A spokesperson for the Anaheim Police Department confirmed that two people in their mid-20s were arrested in connection with the fight.

One suspect was charged with misdemeanor assault, while the other — identified by police as the primary aggressor — faces a felony assault charge. Their names have not been made public.

Police said the victim declined transportation to the hospital at the scene. It is unclear whether medical treatment was sought later.

The brawl occurred as the Angels were hosting their crosstown rival in the final game of a series.

The Angels won 6-5 in a comeback effort, completing a sweep and extending the Dodgers’ struggles since the All-Star break.

Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani addressed the team’s recent performance after the loss, saying the players are working to end the skid.

“Obviously, it doesn’t feel good to fall into second place and to lose a lot of these games,” Ohtani said.

“We’re doing everything in our power, having close meetings, doing everything that we can to try to right the ship. We just have to do a better job.”

Since the All-Star break, the Dodgers have posted a 10-13 record.

The San Diego Padres have moved ahead in the National League West standings, holding a one-game lead over Los Angeles.

Anaheim police said the investigation into the stadium altercation remains open.

No further details on potential additional charges or disciplinary action from the teams or Major League Baseball have been released.
