Baltimore City Public Schools is under federal investigation following allegations of widespread antisemitic harassment, including a teacher reportedly threatening to “go all Nazi” on a Jewish student and students shouting “all Jews should die,” according to a complaint filed with the U.S. Department of Education, as reported by The New York Post.
The Trump administration’s Education Department confirmed a Title VI civil rights investigation was opened after evidence surfaced of what officials called “egregious and persistent discrimination” against Jewish students in the school system.

The complaint was filed Thursday with the Office for Civil Rights (OCR), citing multiple incidents in violation of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Among the allegations, one teacher — who remains employed — is accused of threatening a Jewish student by stating he would “go all Nazi” on them.
That same teacher allegedly performed Nazi salutes directed at the student. According to the OCR complaint, a Baltimore City Public Schools investigation confirmed the incident, but the teacher was not disciplined.
Other students reportedly engaged in similar harassment, including statements such as “6 million was not enough,” referring to Holocaust victims, and drawing Nazi symbols on desks and in textbooks.
Nazi salutes were also performed on school playgrounds, while students allegedly told Jewish classmates:

“We should call Hamas and have them come here.”
The Education Department said the reported incidents created a hostile environment that left Jewish students afraid to walk down hallways alone and unable to focus in class.

Craig Trainor, Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights, released a statement condemning the reported conduct.

“The allegations that Baltimore City Public Schools tolerate virulent Nazi-inspired anti-Semitic harassment of its Jewish students is at once appalling and infuriating,” Trainor said.
“When a teacher allegedly directs a Nazi salute toward a Jewish student, or non-Jewish students harass their Jewish contemporaries by saying ‘all Jews should die,’ we are not simply talking about contemptible bullying; we are talking about a shocking abdication of educator responsibility that constitutes unlawful anti-Semitic harassment under Title VI,” he said.
“If true, these allegations confirm a disturbing trend: too many of our nation’s educational institutions are failing American students by inculcating in them a loathing for their own country and fellow citizens and a tolerance and acceptance for a deeply destructive ancient hatred,” Trainor added.
The Trump-McMahon administration’s Education Department emphasized it will “vigorously investigate this matter” to ensure Jewish students have access to a learning environment free of unlawful discrimination.

Baltimore schools were already under scrutiny following an incident last month in which a public school board meeting was interrupted by a pornographic video that included swastikas and antisemitic slurs during the public comment portion.
In a statement, a Baltimore City Public Schools spokeswoman said, “City Schools is committed to fostering a culture of tolerance, respect, and civility. Bullying and harassment have no place in our schools, and we unequivocally reject antisemitism and hate in any form.”
The statement also noted that concerns had previously been raised by the Anti-Defamation League.
