The woman attacked by a mob in downtown Cincinnati over the weekend has broken her silence, sharing her account with entrepreneur and political commentator Vivek Ramaswamy, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Ramaswamy posted on X Monday that he spoke with the victim, identified only as Holly, a single working mother who was visiting the city for a friend’s birthday party. The assault occurred Friday night in an area with no visible police presence, according to Ramaswamy.

Republican presidential candidate and entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy sits for an interview with Brianne Pfannenstiel of the Des Moines Register and Dasha Burns of NBC News in the Des Moines Register newsroom, Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2024.

“I spoke to Holly earlier today (the woman tragically assaulted in Cincinnati this weekend). She’s a single working mom who went to a friend’s birthday party,” Ramaswamy said.

“It’s unconscionable that there were no police present in that area of Cincinnati on a Friday night, or even an ambulance to take her to the hospital.”

Ramaswamy added that, “Hard-working Americans shouldn’t have to worry for their safety when they have a good time in our cities.”

During their conversation, Holly shared with Ramaswamy that no Ohio state officials—Democrat or Republican—had reached out to her following the incident. Aside from one police detective, she had received no communication from any local or state authorities.

“Holly said not a single local or state official had yet reached out as of earlier this afternoon, other than one police detective,” Ramaswamy said in a follow-up post.

“Leftists like to lecture about ‘systemic injustice’ while thugs turn our cities into war zones. I’m done with their excuses.”

Ramaswamy, who has been critical of rising urban crime, pledged to take a zero-tolerance approach if elected governor of Ohio. He said the state’s law enforcement should have full backing to reestablish public safety.

“As governor, I’ll make sure they’re behind bars, not running wild. Our cops will have the green light to restore order—no apologies,” he wrote.

“Holly appreciates the kind words and prayers from patriots across the country and hopes that the publicity around her story ensures that local and state leaders clean up our failing cities.”

He also said he hopes to visit Holly soon as she recovers from the attack.

The incident has reignited concerns over violent crime and law enforcement shortages in U.S. cities, especially during weekends when foot traffic increases and police presence is often limited.
