House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) stated that Congress may issue a subpoena to former President Barack Obama over allegations of coordination with intelligence agencies to tie President Donald Trump to Russia during the 2016 presidential election.
In an interview with reporter David Brody, Johnson confirmed he is considering such a move, citing concerns about the integrity of the nation’s intelligence processes and the alleged misuse of federal power during the final months of the Obama administration.
“I think we have a responsibility to follow the truth, where it leads,” Johnson said.
“To do effectively the opposite of what that other team did — they were engaged in a partisan political plot to take down their foe in the other party. We need to be about the rule of law and bring an order to the chaos and searching out the truth because the American people are owed those answers.”

Johnson added that if former President Obama had any involvement in directing or approving intelligence activity that targeted Trump’s campaign, then he should be held accountable.
“If it’s uncomfortable for him, he shouldn’t have been involved in overseeing this, which is what it appears to us has happened,” Johnson said.

The remarks come amid renewed scrutiny following statements made by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, who claimed that newly released records show coordination at the highest levels of the Obama administration to falsely portray then-candidate Trump as colluding with Russia.
“There was a treasonous conspiracy in 2016 committed by officials at the highest level of government,” Gabbard said.

She added, “Their goal was to subvert the will of the American people and enact what was essentially a years-long coup with the objective of trying to usurp the president from fulfilling the mandate bestowed upon him by the American people.”
Gabbard further accused the Obama administration of engaging in an “egregious abuse of power and blatant rejection of our Constitution,” stating that this conduct “threatens the very foundation and integrity of our democratic republic.”
According to Gabbard, former President Obama and members of his national security team “manufactured and politicized intelligence to lay the groundwork” for linking Trump to Russian election interference claims, despite a lack of verified evidence.
“The implications of this are, frankly, nothing short of historic,” Gabbard continued.
“Over 100 documents that we released on Friday really detail and provide evidence of how this treasonous conspiracy was directed by President Obama if just weeks before he was due to leave office after President Trump had already gotten elected.”
“This is not a Democrat or Republican issue — this is an issue that is so, so serious, it should concern every single American because it has to do with the integrity of our democratic republic,” Gabbard said.

The statements from both Johnson and Gabbard follow growing calls within the House Republican Conference to revisit the origins of the Russia investigation and to determine whether senior officials in the outgoing Obama administration improperly leveraged federal intelligence assets against Trump’s campaign.
The House continues to review classified and declassified materials related to the early stages of the Crossfire Hurricane probe and other related activities that took place in the months leading up to the 2016 election and during the presidential transition.

Democrats laugh at subpoenas. The RNC is a bad joke.
Democrats weren’t shy about committing traitorous acts. But will Republicans have the courage to resist caving after the Democrat media starts calling them names for being vindictive toward seditious Dem elites? I hope for once they remember “Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me”.

Sure he will Mike. After your 41 day vacation, then a dozen days arguing over who interviews him, because you will no interrogate him. Then another month will go by giving the president time to collect his thoughts, then it will be time for another 2 week Fall break and then a few more days of interviewing his henchmen then another break for Thanksgiving then fight over the budget you didn’t handle in October then a Christmas vacation comes and in the meantime Obama goes to Costa Rica where there is no amnesty. Nothing will happen because Republicans are captives in DC and are afraid of their shadow, especially fag Mike, I mean Speaker Mike, the accidental Speaker.
