A convicted felon out on parole is now facing 37 counts of attempted murder after allegedly driving his car into a crowd of pedestrians outside a Hollywood nightclub earlier this month, as reported [1] by The New York Post.
The suspect, identified as 31-year-old Miguel Ramirez, was behind the wheel of a Nissan Versa when he allegedly accelerated into a group of mostly women waiting in line outside the Dragonfly Hollywood nightclub around 2 a.m.

According to Los Angeles District Attorney candidate Nathan Hochman, “When he drove that car onto that sidewalk, he aimed it at a whole sea of pedestrians that were in front of him on the sidewalk at 2 a.m.”
Authorities said the vehicle also struck a food vendor’s cart and a valet stand during the incident, which occurred in a heavily trafficked area of the city’s nightlife district.
Chaos erupted after the crash. Witnesses told police that bystanders pulled Ramirez from the car and began physically assaulting him. During the altercation, one unidentified individual pulled out a firearm and shot Ramirez.
That suspect fled the scene and has not yet been located. Police are continuing to investigate the shooting.
Ramirez was transported to a local hospital and survived the gunshot wound. He is currently in custody and faces multiple felony charges stemming from the vehicle attack. If convicted on all counts, he could face life in prison.
Ramirez’s criminal history spans a decade. He has at least 11 previous criminal cases, according to the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, including both misdemeanors and felonies.
In 2014, Ramirez was charged in a gang-related case. In 2019, he was convicted of felony battery following an assault outside a Whole Foods Market and was sentenced to prison in 2020. Details surrounding his parole release remain unclear.
