Investigators have confirmed that male blood was found at a Washington state campsite where three young sisters were discovered dead last week, as the search continues for their father, 32-year-old Army veteran Travis Decker, as reported by The New York Post.

Decker has been the subject of a large-scale manhunt since May 30, when he failed to return his daughters, Paityn, 9, Evelyn, 8, and Olivia, 5, to their mother after a scheduled custody visit.

The girls’ bodies were found on June 2 at a remote campground in Wenatchee, located about three hours east of Seattle.

According to the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office, the girls were discovered with plastic bags placed over their heads and their wrists zip-tied. Authorities have confirmed that the cause of death was suffocation.

Investigators found Decker’s truck abandoned at the site, with two bloody handprints visible on the tailgate.

Forensic analysis of blood samples collected from the scene revealed that one sample belonged to a male. A second sample was determined to be from an animal, authorities said.

Decker’s dog was also found alive at the campsite and was later turned over to the local humane society.

The Chelan County Sheriff’s Office and federal authorities continue their active search for Decker, who is believed to possess extensive survival skills due to his military background.

Law enforcement agencies have cautioned that Decker may be capable of evading capture for extended periods in remote or rugged terrain.

Decker has been charged with three counts of murder and kidnapping in the deaths of his daughters. A federal charge of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution has also been filed.

Officials have urged anyone with information about Decker’s whereabouts to contact law enforcement immediately and not to approach him.

As of now, Decker remains at large.
