Terry Bradshaw, former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and longtime Fox Sports broadcaster, encountered an unexpected delay at Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri on Monday after being selected for an intensive TSA security screening, as reported by The New York Post.

Bradshaw, 76, was traveling through security when he was randomly chosen for additional screening measures.

According to a video posted to Facebook by a companion, the experience included multiple pat-downs, luggage checks, and a transfer to a private screening room. Frustrated, he then says, “I’m The Unabomber.”

“I’m not against being safe but… This is ridiculous!!” Bradshaw said in the video. “TSA approved, had the body pat down, all the luggage checked, unpacked item by item. Now going into private room for ANOTHER pat down.”

Despite his frustration, Bradshaw cooperated fully with security personnel. He was seen walking alongside a TSA officer and joking toward the camera during the process.

Bradshaw was departing Branson, Missouri, where he had just wrapped up a performance of “The Terry Bradshaw Show.” The live show, which features Bradshaw telling personal stories and singing, is part of a national tour.

This is not the first unusual airport experience for Bradshaw in 2025. On April 10, while on a flight that had landed in Pittsburgh, passengers were temporarily unable to exit the aircraft due to a jammed door.

One passenger, Selah Gamble, described the situation to local media outlet KDKA Pittsburgh, recalling that the pilot announced the door had finally been opened thanks to “the strength of one of our passengers.” Gamble said it was clear the reference was to Bradshaw.

However, Bradshaw later clarified the situation on Instagram, writing, “Just to set the record straight… I did nothing to open the door on the plane! The maintenance crew had it open in 15 minutes.”

Bradshaw’s most recent airport encounter once again put him in the spotlight, drawing attention to the Transportation Security Administration’s random screening procedures.

Though the NFL Hall of Famer complied without incident, he made clear that he found the experience excessive.

Bradshaw continues to travel across the country for his live shows, which combine football stories with musical performances. The next leg of his tour is expected to continue later this summer.
