President Trump Announces Cease-Fire Agreement Between Israel and Iran After 12-Day Conflict [WATCH]

President Donald Trump announced Monday evening that Israel and Iran have agreed in principle to a cease-fire, effectively ending what he has termed the “12 Day War.”

As The New York Post reported [1], the agreement, as laid out by the president, is set to unfold in phases over a 24-hour period beginning approximately six hours after his statement.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump wrote:

“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED!”

Trump continued, explaining the structure of the cease-fire:

“Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL.”

Though there was no immediate official confirmation from either Iran or Israel, the proposed deal marks a significant development following the escalation that began earlier this month.

Trump added:

“On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, ‘THE 12 DAY WAR.’ This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t, and never will!”

Vice President JD Vance responded to the announcement during a Fox News interview, saying:

“The president without — knock on wood — having a single American casualty, obliterated the Iranian nuclear program.”

The vice president also emphasized the need for continued dialogue with both Israel and Iran to secure a longer-term resolution.

Trump’s statement came just hours after Iran launched a retaliatory rocket strike on the U.S. military’s Al Udeid Air Base near Doha, Qatar. According to the president, Tehran provided a warning beforehand, and most of the rockets were intercepted before reaching their target.

The conflict began on June 13 with Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites, accompanied by targeted assassinations of key Iranian scientists and military figures.

When Israel failed to neutralize Iran’s Fordow enrichment facility with conventional munitions, Trump authorized the use of 14 “bunker buster” 30,000-pound bombs from American B-2 bombers.

President Trump later declared that all three Iranian facilities targeted — Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan — were “totally destroyed.” A full damage assessment is still underway.
