A Florida man who taunted Polk County law enforcement on social media has been arrested after challenging the sheriff’s office and claiming he couldn’t be caught. His challenge was accepted—and answered—by multiple law enforcement agencies, as reported by Fox News.
Aaron Donta Johnson, 29, had been wanted for violating the conditions of his pretrial release. Rather than lay low, Johnson took to Facebook to mock the Polk County Sheriff’s Office and its well-known leader, Sheriff Grady Judd.

“Ya’ll too busy fishing dats why yall didn’t catch me when I left my grandmas house today,” Johnson wrote in one post. He included hashtags such as “#GradyCan’tFindMe” and “#ComeAgainGrady,” daring deputies to come after him.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded directly, posting: “Spoken like a true man. Way to take responsibility for your actions. No worries – we will find you. Bet.”
In another post, Johnson boasted, “I done out ran yall several time. #ComeTryAgainGrady.”
The sheriff’s office replied, “Challenge accepted.”
Johnson’s social media taunts continued, with one message stating: “OK! I’ll give you and ya crew a head start. Ya’ll couldn’t catch me on foot or in da car last time. Maybe you gonna need that horse or ya helicopter! #levelup #ImGoneGrady.”

Unbeknownst to Johnson, the Lakeland Police Department had also joined the search. The department stated it was alerted to Johnson’s public posts and coordinated with the sheriff’s office to bring him into custody.

“What Aaron didn’t know is – that we got their backs,” the Lakeland Police Department posted on Facebook. “When Aaron Johnson jumped on Facebook and challenged the Polk County Sheriff’s Office… our LPD officers said, ‘Challenge accepted.’”
“Today, that little game ended,” the post continued. “Our officers and detectives tracked him down and personally delivered him to the Deputies at the Polk County Jail. Nice Try, Aaron. Maybe next time…but probably not.”
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office capped the arrest with a final post, referencing a well-known comedy skit:
“You done messed up A-aron! You forgot all the agencies here in Polk work together… thanks LakelandPD for the find. #GotEm #TeamworkMakesTheDreamwork #PlayStupidGamesWinStupidPrizes #AaronRanButWeCaughtHimAnyway.”
According to jail records, Johnson has a long history of arrests in Polk County dating back to at least 2015. His past charges include drug possession, domestic assault, burglary, driving on a suspended license, and making written threats to kill or injure.
He now faces new charges related to his violation of pretrial release conditions.
