A senior official at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is raising serious concerns about what he describes as an organized system enabling millions of illegal immigrants to receive valid Social Security numbers, access taxpayer-funded benefits, and, in some cases, end up on voter rolls in multiple states.

Antonio Gracias, a DOGE official, shared the details during a recent appearance on the “All In” podcast, where he outlined how the process works and why the department is investigating the scale of its impact on both federal resources and U.S. elections.

Gracias said that many illegal immigrants who entered the country during the Biden-Harris administration have been granted Social Security numbers through a streamlined process tied to asylum applications and work authorizations.

“So now you’re in the country with some quasi-legal status, you’re waiting for your court date, while you’re waiting for your court date — six years is the average by the way, it could be longer than that — you can fill out an asylum application, so without an interview, just an application,” he explained.

“Once that application is in, you can file another form, a 765 [form] to get work authorization, once you get that, you get a 766 which is the authorization and we automatically send you a Social Security card in the mail. No interview, that is the majority of the growth you see in these numbers,” Gracias added.

According to DOGE’s internal review, no formal identification verification is required during this process.

Gracias said roughly one-quarter of the illegal immigrants reviewed were never fingerprinted by Border Patrol.

As a result, he stated that an estimated 1.3 million illegal immigrants are now enrolled in Medicaid programs funded by U.S. taxpayers.

The DOGE findings have drawn further attention due to reports of illegal immigrants being registered to vote in multiple states.

Gracias said his team found that several so-called “friendly states” had non-citizens on their voter rolls, some of whom had already cast ballots.

“We looked at voter rolls and we found that thousands are registered to vote in friendly states,” Gracias said.

“And we looked even further in those friendly states and found that many of those people had actually voted. It was shocking to us. If I hadn’t seen this with my own eyes, I wouldn’t believe it … it is shockingly bad.”

DOGE’s review also identified individuals on the voter rolls whose names matched those listed on the federal Terror Watch List.

Some were also individuals with known criminal records.

Several states have taken action in recent months to address these findings. Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Virginia, and Ohio have each reported purging non-citizens from their voter rolls.

While some of those states confirmed that individuals had voted prior to being removed, it remains unclear how widespread the issue is across other jurisdictions.

Gracias, who previously donated to Democratic candidates, said the findings have changed his perspective. “Yeah, I think this was a move to import voters,” he said.

The revelations have added fuel to the ongoing debate about illegal immigration, federal benefit distribution, and election security.

The Department of Government Efficiency has continued to face pushback, particularly from Democratic lawmakers, as it releases findings critical of policies and practices implemented under the Biden administration.

Gracias maintained that the department will continue to present its findings to the public, despite political pressure.
