The Pentagon wasted no time firing back at yet another leftist smear campaign, this time coming straight out of the pages of The New York Times, as reported by The New York Post.

The legacy outlet pushed a sensational story claiming tech billionaire Elon Musk would be briefed on America’s most classified strategies for a potential war with China. But Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell didn’t mince words — he called it what it was: “garbage.”

Appearing on Fox & Friends Friday morning, Parnell immediately shut down the story, saying:

“That is completely fake. This is egregious. This is fake. The New York Times should retract this story. This type of garbage from the New York Times … undermines our mission.”

The Times, clinging to its usual playbook of “anonymous officials,” claimed that top military brass planned to give Musk a confidential slideshow detailing the United States’ secret war plans against China.

Because nothing says “responsible journalism” like publishing fiction under the cover of unnamed sources.

Parnell didn’t hold back, emphasizing that while Musk’s innovative contributions to defense technology are appreciated, the idea that he’d be handed top-secret battle strategies is absurd.

“We want a guy like Elon Musk in the Defense Department to help us come up with creative solutions to the problems that we face today,” he explained. “But this article — this article is ridiculous. It’s fake. And I can confirm that on the record.”

The Pentagon spokesman also took to X to torch the Times story, labeling it “100% fake news” and “just brazenly & maliciously wrong.”

He also praised Musk, calling him “a patriot,” and expressed gratitude that someone with his capabilities and mindset is involved in strengthening America’s defense efforts.

President Donald Trump chimed in on the matter Thursday through his Truth Social account, reassuring Americans that “China will not even be mentioned or discussed” at the upcoming meeting.

That’s a clear message from the Commander-in-Chief, who doesn’t tolerate political theater masquerading as news.

Even Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth jumped into the fray, clarifying on X that the Musk visit is focused on “innovation, efficiencies & smarter production,” not some Hollywood-style intelligence briefing.

The left-wing media’s obsession with pushing false narratives has once again blown up in their faces. Musk, a known patriot and problem-solver, is simply visiting the Pentagon to help improve America’s defense capabilities — not to get a sneak peek at battle plans.

The New York Times should be embarrassed, but then again, shame doesn’t come easy when your agenda comes first.
