Joe Biden and his wife, Jill Biden, met privately last month with newly elected Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Ken Martin, offering [1] to step back into the political spotlight to help revive the party’s struggling image and fundraising efforts, according to a report published by NBC News.
The meeting reportedly took place amid a backdrop of plummeting public support for Democrats.
Since President Donald Trump returned to office on January 20, national polling shows fewer than one-third of Americans approve of the Democratic Party’s performance.

The situation has sparked tension among party insiders, with several former Biden aides and congressional staff expressing outrage over the former president’s offer to return to campaign leadership.
“The Bidens are still living in an alternative universe that revolves only around them,” a former senior White House adviser told the New York Post.
“Their irresponsibility, family ego and selfishness put the Democratic Party in this position in the first place … The Biden family — and the disconnected reality that they and their ineffective little circle live in — is responsible for the Trump sequel and the wilderness the Democratic Party finds itself in today.”
Another former Biden-Harris administration official questioned the logic of reintroducing Biden to the campaign trail.
“Why? That is my first question,” the official said.
“They can’t raise money either way. I think donors would be more inclined to donate if they [the Bidens] were not relevant.”
A third former aide added, “Joe Biden should enjoy retirement at the beach in Rehoboth. No voter wants to hear from him. He is delusional and arrogant to think that he can be a value add to the Democratic Party. We need to move on from the era of Joe Biden and embrace new, younger leadership.”
Frustration was echoed among congressional Democrats, who lost control of both chambers following the November 5 defeat of then-Vice President Kamala Harris.
Harris had entered the presidential race after Biden announced on July 21 that he would not seek a second term.
“Why the f**k would anyone listen to what Joe Biden has to say?” said one congressional Democratic source.
“He should stay in retirement with his pardoned family and keep his mouth shut.”
“The best thing Biden could do for the DNC is offer [DNC vice chair] David Hogg a high-paying role at his foundation,” a Democratic aide added.

One former Democratic aide responded bluntly: “Is this serious? I mean, it has to be a joke. This is an ‘SNL’ skit.”
Biden has largely maintained a low public profile since leaving office, making only occasional social media posts.
However, recent reports confirm that he signed with Creative Artists Agency, the same firm he worked with to promote his 2017 memoir “Promise Me, Dad.”
Details of his future plans, including any potential speaking engagements or media ventures, remain unclear.
Meanwhile, scrutiny of the Biden family’s financial history continues.
