New data released by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) highlights a dramatic shift in immigration enforcement under President Donald Trump, with interior arrests already surpassing the total number made during the entirety of Fiscal Year 2024 under Joe Biden.
According to Fox News’ Bill Melugin, senior ICE and DHS officials provided updated numbers on immigration enforcement, revealing a stark contrast between the Trump and Biden administrations’ handling of illegal immigration.
In a background call with reporters, ICE officials confirmed that in just the first 50 days of Trump’s presidency (January 20 – March 10, 2025), ICE arrested 32,809 illegal aliens in the interior of the U.S.

This figure nearly matches the 33,300 arrests made in all of Fiscal Year 2024 under the Biden-Harris administration.
Officials further stated that in just two days following March 10, Trump’s ICE operations had already exceeded Biden’s total for the previous year.
ICE data breaks down the arrests made under Trump so far:
- 14,111 convicted criminals
- 9,980 illegal aliens with pending charges
- 8,000+ immigration violators
- 47,600 currently detained illegal aliens, maxing out available ICE detention beds
ICE and DHS officials also revealed that under the Biden-Harris administration, ICE arrest numbers were “falsely inflated” by counting illegal aliens who were processed and released into the U.S. as “interior ICE arrests.”
BREAKING: Senior ICE and DHS officials just held a background call w/ reporters. Highlights below, per these officials:

According to ICE sources, a review of records found “tens of thousands” of instances where individuals were counted as ICE arrests despite never being detained or deported.

Instead, they were simply released into the country under DHS policies from the previous administration.
Officials further stated that this practice was a directive from DHS leadership under Biden and included cases involving violent criminals and gang members who were allowed to remain in the U.S.
With the Trump administration now aggressively enforcing immigration laws, ICE confirmed that they are actively working to locate and detain individuals who were previously counted as “pass-through arrests” but were never actually removed from the country.
These individuals, many of whom have criminal convictions or pending charges, are now being targeted for deportation as part of Trump’s renewed border security and immigration enforcement strategy.
The new ICE report further highlights the impact of Biden’s border policies, which led to record levels of illegal crossings and what critics called a failure to enforce immigration laws.
Under former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the Biden-Harris administration repeatedly downplayed the severity of the border crisis, claiming that solutions required new legislation from Congress.

However, within weeks of Trump taking office, border crossings have plummeted, and deportations have surged, contradicting claims that executive action was insufficient to address the problem.
Since returning to office, President Trump’s team has moved quickly to reverse Biden-era immigration policies, including:
- Ending “catch and release” policies
- Expanding deportation priorities to include all illegal aliens, not just violent criminals
- Increasing ICE and Border Patrol resources for interior enforcement
- Strengthening cooperation with state and local law enforcement
With ICE enforcement ramping up, thousands of previously released illegal aliens—some with serious criminal records—are now being tracked down and detained.
WOW! A review of DHS & ICE data revealed the Biden admin. was “cooking the books” on illegal migrant arrests.

The Trump administration has signaled that immigration enforcement will remain a top priority, with DHS expected to expand detention capacity and accelerate deportation proceedings in the coming months.
As the Biden-Harris administration’s handling of the border continues to be scrutinized, the new ICE numbers serve as further proof of the stark differences in immigration enforcement between the two administrations.

Cooking the books is par for the course since they stole 2020 and illegal immigration was the only card left to steal 2024 since the 2020 shenanigans (amongst which voting by mail or dropoff) were more closely monitored this time around.
