Carl Dean, the fiercely private husband of country music icon Dolly Parton, passed away on Monday at the age of 82.
Dolly Parton once said Carl Dean only ever saw her perform once in over 60 years together. He loved her for her, not for the rhinestones. He’s passed away at 82, but their kind of love doesn’t die. pic.twitter.com/i1briFuYTg [1]

Parton, who rarely shared much about her husband publicly, confirmed his passing in a heartfelt social media post, reflecting on their more than six decades together, as reported [3] by The Independent Journal Review.
“Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words can’t do justice to the love we shared for over 60 years. Thank you for your prayers and sympathy.”
The country legend also revealed that Dean will be honored with a private burial service attended only by close family members. “He was survived by his siblings Sandra and Donnie,” she added.

Dolly Parton and Carl Dean’s love story began in the most ordinary of places—a laundromat. Parton was just 18, and Dean was 20 when they met, as reported by Fox News.
What followed was a lifelong partnership that endured despite the pressures of fame and the entertainment industry’s never-ending spotlight.
Unlike most celebrity spouses, Dean had no interest in the public eye. While Parton became one of the most recognized names in country music, her husband remained an enigma, staying out of Hollywood’s self-indulgent limelight.
