Auburn Tigers men’s basketball coach Bruce Pearl had a strong message for criminals following President Donald Trump’s latest appointment to his administration.

On Sunday, Trump announced that former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino will serve as the next deputy director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under newly appointed FBI Director Kash Patel.

Trump shared the news on Truth Social, calling Bongino a dedicated patriot with a strong background in law enforcement and national security.

“Great news for Law Enforcement and American Justice,” Trump wrote. “Dan Bongino, a man of incredible love and passion for our Country, has just been named the next DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF THE FBI, by the man who will be the best ever Director, Kash Patel.”

Pearl, who has been vocal about his support for Trump in the past, reacted to the announcement on X.

“Congratulations to my friend and great patriot Dan Bongino,” Pearl wrote. “The bad guys best keep their head on a swivel!”

Bongino, a former Fox News host and podcast personality, responded to the appointment with gratitude, thanking both Trump and Patel in a post on X.

Trump highlighted Bongino’s extensive career in law enforcement and his academic background, noting that he earned a master’s degree in psychology from City University of New York and an MBA from Penn State.

“He was a member of the New York Police Department (New York’s Finest!), a highly respected Special Agent with the United States Secret Service, and is now one of the most successful Podcasters in the Country, something he is willing and prepared to give up in order to serve,” Trump wrote.

Trump emphasized the importance of restoring law and order, stating that Bongino, along with newly appointed U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi and FBI Director Patel, will play a critical role in that mission.

“Working with our great new United States Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and Director Patel, Fairness, Justice, Law and Order will be brought back to America, and quickly,” Trump said. “Congratulations Dan!”

Trump also praised Bongino’s character, highlighting his family and personal values.

“Another aspect of the life of Dan Bongino that I think is very important. He has a great wife, Paula, and two wonderful daughters who truly love their dad,” Trump wrote. “What an incredible job Dan will do!!!”

Bongino’s appointment comes amid Trump’s broader efforts to overhaul federal law enforcement leadership as part of his administration’s agenda.
